Le marché Saint-Germain occupe une partie de l'emplacement de la célèbre foire, située dès le XIIème siècle sur le domaine de l'Abbaye de Saint-Germain-des-Prés. L'Abbé Guillaume Briçonnet fit édifier en 1511 une halle à double comble assez vste pour accueillir 300 marchands, qui disparut dans un incendie en 1762. This street was opened in 1817 to serve the market Saint-Germain. The Saint-Germain market occupies part of the site of the famous fair, located at the XII century on the grounds of the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
