Les chats ont l'ouïe fine et perçoivent des ultrasons jusqu' 50 000 Hz.
Les êtres humains ont une sensibilité maximum de 20 000 Hz en comparaison.
Grâce à ses 27 muscles concernant son pavilllon en cornet dans l'oreille, le chat peut
faire pivoter indépendamment chaque oreille pour en saisir la nature du bruit et la distance,
sacré radar !

LE CHAT A UN 6EME SENS !

Ce 6ème sens s'appelle l’organe de Jacobson Comme le chien ou le cheval,
le chat est capable de goûter les odeurs à l’aide de son organe voméro-nasal. Il retrousse
ses babines pour permettre aux odeurs de remonter par deux petits conduits situés
derrière les incisives jusqu’à deux sacs remplis de fluide dans les cavités nasales chargées
de concentrer les odeurs. Cette attitude caractéristique, commune à plusieurs mammifères,
est aussi appelée "réaction de Flehmen".
